Introducing the Goettl Brothers
Adam and Gust Goettl launched Goettl in 1939, marking the beginning of their successful partnership. Adam brought his entrepreneurial skills and business acumen, while Gust contributed his inventiveness and knack for enhancing preexisting heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Together, they developed groundbreaking advancements in sheet metal fabrication, amassing over 100 patents for their technologies. Such innovations have solidified Goettl’s reputation as a top-tier provider in the industry.

Evolution of Goettl Air Conditioning
After relocating to Phoenix in 1939, the Goettl brothers were struck by the intense heat and decided to take action to improve living conditions. On Valentine’s Day, 1939, Goettl Air Conditioning emerged, determined to transform Phoenix into a more habitable environment. Through their revolutionary enhancements to cooled air solutions, the brothers elevated Arizona’s appeal among potential inhabitants.

As World War II unfolded, Gust and Adam lent their expertise to wartime production efforts before resuming their residential ventures post-conflict. As Phoenix flourished, the Goettl brothers gained prominence by driving around town equipped with mobile AC units atop their vehicles, offering much-needed relief from the blazing desert temperatures. By captivating locals, this clever strategy cemented their status within households everywhere and changed how homeowners navigated hot climates.

Present-Day Goettl Team
Ken Goodrich, Goettl’s present Chairman of the Board and previous CEO, shares fond reminiscences related to Goettl. Growing up, he assisted his father in maintaining AC equipment and marveled at the durability and superior performance associated with Goettl products. Upon acquiring Goettl Air Conditioning in 2013, Goodrich broadened its reach to encompass new regions such as Tucson, Austin, San Antonio, Las Vegas, and various parts of southern California—with aspirations to further extend its footprint across the United States.

Goodrich expressed his sentiments about preserving the esteemed Goettl heritage, stating, “Carrying forward the illustrious Goettl legacy is both humbling and exciting.” Having laid the foundation for the modern HVAC sector, the Goettl siblings crafted a prestigious label revered by professionals throughout the trade. According to Goodrich, “the ‘Goettl workhorse’ remains synonymous with excellence and inspires genuine astonishment amongst colleagues.”
